Court removes obstacle to release wolves in New Mexico

*Staff Note* – The staff at WEI find it interesting that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is still pushing to release hybrid semi-wild canines, when the department has been chastised by the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Natural Resources and asked for explanations about how and why the department violated the Endangered Species Act by knowingly releasing hybridized canines into both Federal and private lands.

“Denver — A court has removed one obstacle to the federal government’s plan to release more endangered wolves in New Mexico over the state’s objections, but it wasn’t immediately clear whether or when additional releases would occur.

A Denver-based federal appeals court on Tuesday lifted a preliminary injunction that prevented the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service from releasing more Mexican gray wolves after New Mexico refused to agree to the plan.”<<<Read More>>>
